George Toriello sent this researched material on November 29, 2018 to me after I had asked him if he could find any information on these two people whose grave markers laid side by side in the Hackensack Cemetery in Hackensack, New Jersey.

George Toriello found that they were married State side, we do not know where at this time, on April 16, 1945, just before the end of World War II fighting in Europe in May of 1945.  After they were married, Dorothy returned to duty in Cherry Point, North Carolina and Joseph returned to duty in Greenville, North Carolina.

Where they lived we do not know at this time, but George Toriello did find that Dorothy passed away while living in Teaneck, New Jersey.  This couple will always be connected to Hackensack by being buried in the Hackensack Cemetery now and forevermore.

Let us always be grateful for their sacrifice.
